Mercy Community Care, A New State-Of-The-Art Ambulatory Care Center, Affiliated with Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center In The Bronx New York, Opens

July 1, 2004 -- Mercy Community Care, a new state-of-the-art ambulatory care center, affiliated with Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center, that provides Bronx residents of all ages with more than twenty specialty and sub-specialties in medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and dental services, has opened. The new Center is located at 4234 Bronx Boulevard and 234th Street, one block from the Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center's John Cardinal O'Connor Campus on East 233rd Street.

It marks the beginning of a new era of service for the Wakefield–Woodlawn community of the Bronx," said Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center's President and Chief Executive Officer Richard Celiberti. "Mercy Community Care provides an exceptional environment for high-quality medical care and a single one-stop location where Bronx residents can access multiple health care services from dedicated and caring, board certified physicians. The Center accepts Medicaid, Medicaid Managed Care, Child Health Plus and offers assistance in obtaining Child Health Plus or Family Health Plus through their facilitated enrollers," Celiberti added.

Mercy Community Care also accommodates patients who carry commercial insurance. Patients should call Mercy Community Care to see if their commercial insurance is accepted by one of the center's physicians.

Our Lady of Mercy's Ambulatory Care Center offers the following medical services:

Medicine: allergy, arthritis/rheumatology, cardiology, pulmonology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, renal, hypertension, neurology and dermatology.

Surgical subspecialties: general surgery, plastic surgery, urology, pediatric urology, breast clinic and podiatry.

Pediatrics: asthma, neurology, allergy, cardiology, dermatology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, hematology, infectious diseases, neonatal care, nephrology, pulmonary.

Dental Services: general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, prosthodontics and oral surgery.
