Sharing a Smile with MMK::BMS
The BMS Section of Smt. M.M.K College of Commerce and Economics, BANDRA, is organizing a daylong event for students with special needs. The event christened MMK::BMS Share a Smile aims at providing these children with a platform to showcase their varied talents and at the same time interact with other students both from similar backgrounds as well as students of MMK::BMS.
The event, which is scheduled on Sunday 9th of February, has several indoor and outdoor activities planned for the children. These activities include dancing and painting competitions as well as physical activities like sack, lime and spoon races. This is the first time any BMS wing has taken this sort of initiative since the Mumbai University introduced the BMS course 3 years ago.
Share a Smile comes as a sequel to a fund raising cricket match for corporates which was organized by MMK::BMS last year. [The participation fee given by the corporates was donated to the National Association for the Blind, India. Companies like LOWE, Centurion Bank, Orange, TATA Finance American Express; National Stock Exchange participated in the event. The daylong event accumulated more than Rupees thirty seven thousand for the NAB.
MMK::BMS students are working hard to make this a memorable event for these children who don't need anyone's pity but need support and equal opportunity. Several celebrities will also drop in at the MMK Campus to support the cause.
All said and done the MMK::BMS students cant wait to interact with these children because at MMK they firmly believe that A smile costs nothing, but gives much; it enriches those who receive, without making poorer those who give.
